Preparatory Year of Romanian Language
The Preparatory Year of Romanian Language is a one-year program offered by the University of Bucharest to help international students learn Romanian in preparation for academic programs taught in this language.
By enrolling in this program, candidates gain the opportunity to access courses at any Romanian university that offers programs in Romanian.Â
Please note that candidates must demonstrate their knowledge of English through an international English language certificate in order to submit a valid application file.
Candidates who have completed at least 3 years of study in English may provide a certificate from their high school confirming the language of instruction.
Please note that Duolingo tests are not accepted as proof of language proficiency!
The courses are organized into six fields of study, designed to help students acquire the specialized terminology and knowledge needed for their future degree programs. These fields ensure that you are fully prepared to pursue your chosen academic path.

Attending the Preparatory Year of Romanian Language and graduating the final exam does NOT guarantee enrollment in the first year of your further studies.
The graduate student of the Preparatory Year of Romanian Language will follow a new admission process for the desired study cycle (Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD).
