Incoming Exchange Students at the University of Bucharest

Before applying to the University of Bucharest as an exchange student, candidates must be officially nominated by their home university. Only students nominated by a partner institution may proceed to the application and admission stage.

Quick Facts

Minimum English language proficiency: B2

Autumn Semester (Semester I): beginning of October - mid February

Spring Semester (Semester II): mid February - mid July

Academic Information

Exchange students may select courses from both Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programmes according to their academic background, study cycle, and learning objectives. Course selection is completed through the Exchange Mobility Agreement in consultation with the home university.

Students interested in Romanian language studies may also apply for the Romanian Language Programme, available exclusively to students enrolled in Romanian language and literature studies at their home institution.

The Romanian language course is offered exclusively to partner universities that have concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Bucharest for Romanian language studies. Students nominated under this type of agreement will be enrolled in the Romanian Preparatory Year programme and will follow the complete curriculum established for this programme throughout the academic year.

As the study plan is predefined and all students attend the same Romanian language and cultural courses included in the Preparatory Year curriculum, students applying for this programme are not required to complete or submit an Exchange Mobility Agreement during either the nomination or the application process.

To complete the Exchange Mobility Agreement, please consult the available Bachelor’s Degree course offer for exchange students, using the buttons below.

Course availability and ECTS credits may be subject to change. If modifications are required after arrival, students must consult the faculty secretariat and notify the International Relations Office to update their Exchange Mobility Agreement accordingly.

The revised document will be signed and sent to the home university for approval.
